Safety at DeliveryFor
Heavy loads need extra care. Here's how we keep drivers, customers, and the public safe.
In an emergency, call 911 first. Then report the incident to us from the app
(Help & Support) or at support@deliveryfor.com.
Built into the platform
- Verified drivers: before going online, drivers upload their driver's license, vehicle insurance, registration, and vehicle photo. We send reminders before documents expire.
- Live tracking: customers can see the driver's location from assignment to drop-off.
- In-app chat: customers and drivers talk without sharing personal phone numbers.
- Proof of delivery: photo and signature capture at drop-off.
- Two-way ratings: customers rate drivers after every delivery, and we review low ratings and reports.
- Secure payments: no cash changes hands. Payments and payouts go through Stripe.
For drivers
Loading & securing cargo
- Never exceed your vehicle's or trailer's rated payload or towing capacity.
- Secure every load with straps, ratchets, or nets rated for the weight. Flag long loads (lumber, pipe) that extend past your bed or trailer as required by state law.
- Use proper lifting technique, and use dollies, ramps, or a second person for heavy items. If a load looks unsafe, you can decline it.
- Refuse any item you suspect is hazardous, illegal, or not as described, and report it through the app.
On the road
- Set up navigation before you start moving. Don't text or interact with the app while driving.
- Leave extra stopping distance and take turns wider when you're loaded or towing.
- Pull over somewhere safe and legal for pickups and drop-offs. Never block traffic or fire lanes.
On job sites
- Follow posted site rules and wear a high-visibility vest and closed-toe boots. Wear a hard hat where required.
- Watch for heavy equipment and only unload where the customer or site supervisor tells you.
Insurance
Make sure your insurance covers delivery or commercial use. Many personal auto policies exclude it. Keep your insurance card current in the app.
For customers
- Describe items honestly, including weight and size, so the right vehicle shows up.
- Have items staged, bundled, and ready, with a clear path for loading.
- Keep children and pets away from the loading area.
- Confirm the driver's name and vehicle in the app before handing over items.
- Keep conversations and payments in the app.
Reporting a problem
Report unsafe behavior, accidents, damaged items, or harassment from the order or job screen, or contact support@deliveryfor.com. We may suspend an account while we look into a serious report.
